Woocommerce default payment gateway

WooCommerce comes with a default payment gateway system built-in. Out of the box, WooCommerce includes a few free payment options you can enable right away:

• Cash on Delivery (COD)
• Bank Transfer (BACS)
• Check Payments
• PayPal Standard (though in recent versions, PayPal Payments is recommended instead)

Beyond these, WooCommerce has official extensions and integrations for popular gateways like Stripe, PayPal Payments, Square, Authorize.Net, Klarna, Afterpay, etc. You can install and configure them directly from the WooCommerce Extensions marketplace or WordPress plugins.

👉 If you just install WooCommerce and do nothing else, you’ll have COD, Bank Transfer, and Check Payments available as the “default” options. For card payments or modern gateways, you’ll need to add an extension.
