Create a Google Analytics account
Creating a Google Analytics account involves several steps. Here’s a guide to help you set it up:
Sign Up for Google Analytics:
- Go to the Google Analytics website. https://analytics.google.com/
- You maybe redirected to a login page
- Click on the “create an account” button or “Sign in to Analytics” if you already have a Google account.
Create an Analytics Account:
- Once logged in. Click start measuring.
- Enter an account name. This is typically the name of your business or website.
- Configure the data sharing settings according to your preferences.
- Hit next
Create a Property:
- Enter the property name, which is usually the name of your website.
- Select your reporting time zone and currency.
- Click on the “Next” button to proceed.
Business details
- Choose industry
- Choose company size
Business objectives
Select the following
- Generate leads
- Examine human behaviour
- Get base line reports
- Hit create
- Agree to terms and conditions
Start Collection DATA
- Choose web
- Add website url
- Website steam name (can be any name)
- Hit create and continue in top right
- Hit next
- Hit continue to home
Share Google Analytics Access
Add admins on the account
In the bottom left there a little gear icon From within that go to admin > and Account Access Management From this screen you should see a big blue + icon in the top right - this is for adding new users Please add brian@example.com.au as users with administrator level access.
Add New Admin User To GA
To add an additional user to a Google Analytics account, follow these steps:
- Sign in to Google Analytics: Go to the Google Analytics website (https://analytics.google.com/) and sign in with your Google account credentials.
- Navigate to the Admin section. You can find it in the bottom left corner of the page.
- Select the Appropriate Account, Property, or View: In the Admin panel, you’ll see three columns for Account, Property, and View. Choose the appropriate Account, Property, or View to which you want to add the user.
- User Management: Under the selected Account, Property, or View, you’ll find a section called “User Management”. Click on it.
- Click on the “+” Button: You’ll see a blue “+” button. Click on it to add a new user.
- Enter User Information: You’ll see a form where you can enter the email address of the user you want to add. You can also choose permissions for this user. The permissions range from Read & Analyze (view data) to Manage Users (full administrative access).
- Save Changes: After entering the user’s email and selecting permissions, click on the “Add” button or “Save” button to finalize the addition.
- Notification: Google Analytics will send an email notification to the new user informing them of their access to the account.
Remember, to add a user to an Analytics account, you need Edit permission for that account. If you’re unable to access the User Management section, you might not have sufficient permissions, and you’ll need to contact the account administrator to grant you the necessary access.
